In the heart of Panama's historical significance, Plaza de la Independencia stands as a symbol of the nation's birth and the site of numerous pivotal moments. The square encompasses iconic landmarks like the Central Hotel, the Canal Museum, and the Municipal Palace (Museum of History). However, amid this historical grandeur, an intriguing structure remains—a mere shell with its outer walls, balconies, and windows.

This structure displays a "Banksy"-esque graffiti image of a flying woman, believed to be a remnant from a past film festival. The building itself lacks a roof, with trees and weeds flourishing inside. Through its balconies and windows, you can gaze at the splendid Greek sculptures atop the Municipal Palace, creating a striking contrast between the maintained and the abandoned, the neo-classical and the colonial, graffiti and sculptures.

Across the street from this structure, the majestic Catedral Basilica Santa Maria la Antigua de Panama graces the skyline. Recently restored, this iconic church exudes beauty and cultural significance. Yet, amid all the history and grandeur, it's the weathered walls of this dilapidated building that captivate my imagination.

In this image, the soaring woman on the deteriorating facade appears as if she has no intention of leaving the sky anytime soon.
