Among the most remarkable historical treasures, you'll find the remnants of La Compañía. Hotel La Compañía now stands on the hallowed ground where La Compañía de Jesús (Company of Jesus) took root after the devastation of the original Panama City in 1671. The construction of the Jesuit Convent, in 1673, marked the birth of the heart and soul of Casco Antiguo.
Recently, a monumental restoration has breathed new life into this location. Today, Hotel La Compañía beckons guests to embark on a captivating historical journey during their visit. It vividly revives three distinct eras of Panama's history through opulent modern design. Each of the three wings within the hotel meticulously restores a piece of the old town (Casco Antiguo). You can choose between the beautifully curated French Colonial wing, built by Jesuit priests in 1739; the Spanish Colonial wing, with roots dating back to 1688; or the Beaux-Arts rooms in the American wing, which harkens back to 1904.
On the far side of the hotel, a segment of the original walls built by the Jesuits endures. This image captures the interior area reserved for special events. The original calicanto walls showcase the intricate stonework from centuries gone by. The arches are nothing short of stunning. In the background, the bright blue sky provides a striking contrast, with one of the towers of Catedral Basilica Santa Maria La Antigua reaching for the heavens. The distinctive shape of this image, long and narrow, adds a unique dimension to your collection. Available in one size, 28"x12".
